Vasalisa and the Peacock
It has been received with great enthusiasm from the audience, bookers and critics alike. It is a highly participative production that contains circus skills, physical theatre and live original music. The action packed story centres around our plucky heroine, Vasalisa, who is on a quest. On the way she meets a maudlin peacock, a comedy cauldron and the terrifying Baba Yaga.
The show is for families and unconventional because the audience have the chance to get up and be involved with the action, help to create soundscapes and enable the heroine to complete her quest. It is an ideal first show for young audiences, as they are actively encouraged ‘not to sit still’.
It is designed to be played in an outdoor setting with Hinged Theatre’s unique set that is inspired by children’s pop up books, it transforms as the story unfolds whilst appearing to be a collection of cardboard boxes and junk!
